Adam is a transportation engineer for M.C. Schaff and Associates. He has performed work on civil engineering projects in hydrology, pavement design, airport runway/taxiway lighting & signing, preparation of specifications & plans, small foundation design, and is a certified Troxler nuclear gauge operator Adam has also completed work as a field tester and lab technician for Panhandle Geotechnical & Environmental where his duties included concrete, soil, and asphalt tests in the lab and field, asphalt and concrete coring, cold in-place asphalt recycling mix design & testing, sampling of monitoring wells, and regular communication with contractors, engineers, & architects.
The following projects represent a sampling of Mr. Vath’s experience:
Lincoln Elementary School Civil Site Design, Gering, Nebr. - Professional Engineer; Mr. Vath was part of the design team that developed a civil site design for the new LEED-eligible elementary school in Gering. The team worked with the Gering Public Schools, Joseph R. Hewgley Associates (architects), and other agencies to design a solution perfect for the public school needs of today and the future.
Improvement Projects at ESU #13, Scottsbluff, Nebr. - Project Manager; Mr. Vath led the project to complete several improvement projects around the ESU #13 campus in Scottsbluff. Projects included site work for a new addition and updating playground areas. The highlight of the project was the new entrance the allowed better access to the building for students and staff of the Educational Service Unit.
Farmers State Bank Civil Site Design, Alliance, Nebr. - Professional Engineer; Mr. Vath assisted the design team on the civil site design for the new Farmer’s State Bank location in Alliance. The former movie rental store was significantly improved to serve as the bank’s newest branch. Enhancements included new drive-through area, required renovations to satisfy bank regulations, and improved parking.
Goshen County Schools Parking Lot Improvement Project, Torrington, Wyo. - Design Engineer; Mr. Vath assisted with the design of parking lot improvements for Goshen County School’s High School facility in Torrington. Due to deterioration of the surface, traffic flow and drainage issues, the high school’s parking lot was in need of renovation. The MCS team worked with the Goshen County School District, the City of Torrington and other interested parties to develop a parking lot solution for the school. The project called for the removal and replacement of the existing parking lot surface, improved drainage, enhanced traffic patterns, and new striping. Work was completed during the summer months to avoid any conflict with the school year.
Prairie Winds Community Center Parking Lot Improvement Project, Bridgeport, Nebr., - Design Engineer; Mr. Vath assisted with the design of parking lot improvements at the PWCC in Bridgeport. The existing gravel lot provided poor drainage during inclement weather and didn’t allow for maximized parking during larger events at the Center. The design team worked with the City of Bridgeport to develop a solution for PWCC that met the needs of the users while remaining fiscally responsible for the City. The team replaced the existing gravel surface with a six-inch P.C. concrete surface, installed curb and gutter features, and developed a parking plan that maximized the number of available spaces. The City crews performed site preparation work to help the City reduce the overall cost of the project.
